MHK Designs "Butterfly Elements"

Thank you for stopping by for
MHK Designs July Release Blog Hop - Day 5

I love butterflies and was so excited to get to use the "Butterfly Elements" stamp set as well as a paper from MHK Designs "Easter Flowers" digital paper pack

I'm showing the side view so you can see that I dimensionalized it.  To do that I printed the image twice....once on the cardstock for the front of the card, and a second time so I could color two of the butterflies and cut them out.  I attached one to the center butterfly, and added the other to the top of the oval that I printed the sentiment on.   I only adhered the center of the butterflies and lifted the wings to give them dimension.

MHK Designs "I've Been Framed"

Thank you for stopping by for
MHK Designs June Release Blog Hop - Day 4

With all the graduations this month I decided to use the "Hats Off" frame image from the "I've Been Framed" digital stamp set, and the "Hats Off To You!" sentiment.

I kept it simple and classy by going wtih black & white and just a touch of gold.  The graduation hat at the top is a brad I have had for years and thought it was the perfect addition to the card.

MHK Designs "Eat Your Veg!"

Thank you for stopping by for
MHK Designs June Release Blog Hop - Day 3

Today I used "Eat Your Veg!" digital stamp set as well as using a paper from MHK Designs "Sunflower Sampler" digital paper pack

Okay...I'm really not going to take credit for this.  My daughter was helping me out this week and she made this cute card.  She decided to use the carrots from this set and the "I love you BUNCHES" sentiment.  The carrots were colored with Distress Markers, and the sentiment edges were inked with Distress Ink.  On the left is a little carrot seed packet that was cut out with Cricut, and she turned it into a shaker by adding some sequins for the "seeds".  The added twine was a perfect touch.

MHK Designs "Open Bloom"

Thank you for stopping by for
MHK Designs June Release Blog Hop - Day 2

Today I used the "Open Bloom" digital stamp set to make this pretty card, as well as using a paper from MHK Designs "Worn & Weathered Pink" digital paper pack

I printed the flower and sentiment on the card, and printed an additional flower the same size to cut out and layer on top of the one in the card using foam tape for dimension.  I colored them with Distress Markers.
The card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square.  I adhered a layer of pink cardstock to the front of the card.  I cut the printed cardstock slightly smaller than the card and then using a Sizzix square die I cut a square out of the middle about 1/2" bigger than the window I will be cutting.  I adhered that to the pink cardstock.  Next, with the card laying OPEN I used the next smallest Sizzix square die and placed it inside the first square to create a window for the flower to show through.

MHK Designs "Beachy Keen"

Thank you for stopping by for
MHK Designs June Release Blog Hop - Day 1

This card features the image from the "Beachy Keen" digital stamp set.  I just love that image!

This is an easel shaker card and that is actually sand in it ... perfect for the beach scene.  The image was colored with colored pencils and chalk.  The added beach embellishments were made with a Cuttlebug and inked with Distress inks.

Happy Father's Day From Our Fur Baby :)

Father's Day is coming up and I have this adorable stamp from Great Impressions Stamps that I love and have been eager to use...
it is Potted Puppy and reminds me of our fur baby Zoey.
I thought it would be fun to make my husband a Father's Day card from Zoey with it :)

This is a Window Gatefold card...click HERE to see my tutorial on how to make one.

I used my Cuttlebug to make the window (see how in the video)
The paper I used on the front of the card as "wallpaper" AND the inside of the card as "grassy hills" is from MHK Designs out of the Sunflower Sampler digital paper pack.  To create the "grassy hills" I tore the paper and inked the edges with Distress Ink.  The adorable image was colored with Inktense watercolor pencils.  "Happy Father's Day" was cut using "Phrases" Cricut Cartridge.

DOUBLE TENT FOLD SHADOWBOX CARD

This is one of the coolest card folds I have seen in a while.  It is easy and versatile so I think YOU will love it too.  I made the top one as a birthday card for my daughter-in-law.

Both of the cards shown here use My Besties images....
and
pre-colored Fluffy Coffee Bestie
All of the other images from Cricut cartridges...
"Buccaneer" Imagine cartridge
"Elegant Edges" cartridge
"Summer In Paris" cartridge
"Paper Pups" cartridge

On the first card Liquid Glass was used on the bubbles on the paper as well as on the shark, treasure chest, fish, and crab to give them a wet look.  And Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pens were used to color the mermaid to give her a shimmer.  The "sand" at the bottom of the "ocean" was created by tearing cardstock and inking it with "Vintage Photo" Distress Ink.

Oh no...I almost forgot challenges!!!
